The only real flaw Debra possesses is her choice in football teams. She is a huge Dallas Cowboys fan, but in that she shows both her undying loyalty and unwavering commitment.
Much is the same when it comes to the way she treats people in her life, as she is the kind of wife, mom, stepmom, grandmother and friend who people can count on no matter what. She is always there and she is always present, and she is very much a rock.
She does it all too. Debra is constantly traveling back and forth between her homes in California and Arizona to upkeep them both, and she runs errands for her husband’s business.
She finds time to buy gifts for people out of the blue too. There does not have to be any sort of special occasion, as she will just buy someone something they have been wanting if she sees it and is thinking about them.
That is one of the many ways Debra shows her love for people, as she is a great gift giver with everyone else’s wants and needs placed above her own.
“She taught me to treat everybody with respect and loyalty and honesty,” Debra’s son Christopher said. “Treat everybody the way you want to be treated. That’s how my mom raised us. She preaches that to this day.”
Debra has been Christopher and Jason’s guiding light for as long as they can remember, and Christopher claims his mother never gave him an ounce of bad advice.
He also talked about all the memories he has with his mother, including trips to the donut shop or McDonald’s when she drove him and his friends to school.
Something else that really stands out to Christopher is how accepting his mother is. When she got together with her husband, she all but instantly started treating his girls (Rocky and Desi) as if they were her own daughters.
“She has accepted the girls as her own,” Christopher said. “She’ll drive as far as she needs to to see her daughters for whatever they need. She’s always been very supportive of them and still is to this day.”
Christopher appreciates how well his mother treats his stepsisters, and even more so, he really appreciates how well she treats her grandbabies. Emma Jane, Colton, Julia, Jaclynn, Kylie and Kaden are the lights of Debra’s world, and she does so much for them.
“She loves to take her grandchildren out to lunch and pick them up after school,” Christopher said. “She’ll spend as much time with them as she can. She will watch them when the kids go out of town. She tries to go to all the sporting events they have. Mom’s very supportive I would say. She’ll come up here a lot to see their events. She’s here for anything that needs support.”
Support has always been a big part of who Debra is. She appreciates where she has come from and where her kids and grandkids are going in life, and she wants to ensure they all know she is there for them no matter what.
“Thank you for always believing in us and never giving up on us in all of our good and darkest times. You are my rock, and I thank you so much and am just proud to call you Mom.” – Christopher
