For Tom and Karla Baureis, they know that true love finds a way.
While it took some time to find each other and the wait was well worth it.
Tom and Karla met a decade ago, and it was pretty much love at first sight. Tom knew within the first three weeks of knowing Karla that he wanted to be with her for the rest of his life. They made that happen, and they are happily married, and while there were numerous moves, hurricanes, long road trips, they have endured it all.
“It’s been a journey, but it’s been wonderful,” Tom said. “In some ways, we are similar, and in many ways, we are different. It kind of balances out.” We both love to travel and Karla is game for just about everything. She is adventurous and goes with the flow.
Tom and Karla are like magnets in this regard, and at the end of the day, they prove time and time again that they are made for one another. While we have alot of common interests in other ways we are totally opposite. It is a perfect balance for us.
Tom would do anything for his wife, as he knows that she is truly a special person. She brings so much joy and laughter into this world, and Tom could not imagine what life would look like without Karla in it. She puts 100% in everything she does, no matter what.
“She can be serious, but also fun, and she is both attractive on the inside and attractive on the outside,” Tom said. “That’s just the person that she is. She would do anything for anybody. She is totally unselfish.”
Karla is someone that is very welcoming and loves to entertain. She is a great cook and makes everything from scratch. She is the ultimate host and thinks of everything when it comes to having a party.
People trust her and know that she will drop what she is doing to help them out if need be. She is a completely self-sacrificing individual who is always looking out for others.
There is also a sense of genuineness with Karla that you do not get with too many people, as you know that she is very sincere with you. She truly cares for others, and people know that.
Karla has a very strong Christian beliefs and this is very important to her. She loves her Bible study group and looks forward to her weekly meetings. She has met many new friends there and this is has been very rewarding to her and her group.
Karla is also a very family-first person. She pushed Tom to be more active and engaged in the kids’ lives, and that support and encouragement has helped him turn into an even better and more supportive father. He knows he would not have the same relationship with them today without Karla, and he is thankful for that.
“She is very family-oriented and makes this a priority in her life,” Tom said. “She always sees the good in people. Karla is very kind to all people and likes to have fun as well. Balance is important in her life, and she reminds me of the work/life balance.”
Overall, Karla is just a very optimistic, upbeat, positive person who sees the good in everyone and everything. She never gives up on anyone, even when people are discouraged with themselves, and she is just ALWAYS there for people.
Karla has such a big heart, and she is someone that people can truly always rely on. Her selflessness cannot be mentioned enough, as it is truly what makes her who she is.
“She is the kindest person I have ever known,” Tom said. “She will go out of her way to help someone when they are in need. She’ll make food for someone who is ill. She makes strangers feel at ease and makes a big effort to get to know people.”
Karla is always making people feel welcome and at home when they are around her, and that is not something that goes unappreciated. She goes out of her way to help and is constantly there, and people love her for her endless sacrifices.
Tom is glad that he gets to be with such a thoughtful woman, and he cannot wait to spend the rest of forever with her.
“I am sure I haven’t thanked her enough for everything she has done for me. She is an amazing woman, my best friend and the person that I want to spend the rest of my life with. I am such a lucky person to have finally found her and continue to grow because of her. I hope she realizes what a huge impact that she has made to me and my life. I am still madly in love with her.
