Sue Young with her husband Jon and son Cody

Sue Young is a kind and hardworking mom who would do anything for her family.

Her son, Cody, said Sue is not just a caring mom, she is the hardest working person he’s ever known.

“She constantly puts everyone else’s needs before her own, especially when it comes to her family,” Cody said. “At times she worked two full-time jobs just to support our family and make sure we always had anything we needed.”

Sue has worked at The Walling Company for over 36 years filling various roles for the business. She works at the company Monday to Friday from 8 to 5, and then puts in many more hours at home to make sure everything is handled.

“There is no way the company would survive without her,” Cody said.

She has been married to her husband, Jon, for 31 years and she has three other kids besides Cody named Chad, Bambi and Kyle. She’s a Nana to seven grandkids and has many nieces and nephews who all adore their Aunt Sue.

In her limited free time, Sue loves to cook, garden, do puzzles, and watch NCIS or Rizzoli and Isles. She and Cody enjoy watching the Halloween Baking Championship and Holiday Baking Championship on Food Network, which is something Cody truly cherishes.

Cody said he has so many wonderful memories of his mom, including family vacations to the Outer Banks, Florida, Kansas City and visiting California for the first time last year.

“I love how she makes every holiday special, and I will always cherish the time I get to spend helping her prep for Thanksgiving dinner,” Cody said.

Cody said Sue has the biggest heart and will do anything for her family, which includes taking care of her mom when she was alive, running Aunt Margie to see the doctor and visiting her grandson, Cael, every day when he was in the NICU the first two months of his life.

“I truly admire that no matter how much work she has to do, she always has time for her family,” Cody said. “Nothing is too big or too small for her to handle.”

Sue has set an example that Cody and his siblings are trying their best to duplicate. She taught them how to be a good person, to put family first and to be a hard worker with a great work ethic.

“Mom also taught me to not be too hard on myself because I am my own worst enemy,” Cody said, adding that taught him to remember to have fun and enjoy life.

Sue does work hard but she also loves to have fun. Cody said his mom is one of the funniest people he knows with a joy for life that he aspires to have someday.

“Mom has the ability to make anyone laugh with a corny joke or by just being herself,” Cody said. “She does a great job of cheering people up when they’re down, which is just one of her many superpowers.”

“My mom is the type of person I aspire to be and if I’m even half the person she is, I know that I’ve turned out pretty damn good,” Cody said. “She is the G.O.A.T. of moms and I thank God every day that he blessed me with her because I don’t know where I would be without her. Mom, I love you to infinity and beyond, thank you for everything, I love you 3,000!”
