Matthew McCoy, met Hope for a few drinks at Sol Cantina when they were in law school. What was supposed to be a fun happy hour date and a break from the books turned into a slight hangover and an amazing life together.

“We had been friends for a while,” said Matthew. “But after our first date; we were never really apart,” he continued.

Before marrying, and taking Matthews’ last name, she was born Hope Nordyke of Butler, Missouri. Parents Debbie and Steve raised their daughter to work hard, be goal-oriented, and always put family first.

These values only grew stronger over the years. Hope set her sights on becoming a lawyer and earned her Law Degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, where she met Matthew.

“She is just a remarkable woman,” said Matthew. “She is a great lawyer, works very hard, and can accomplish anything she puts her mind to.”

Hope worked hard to become a successful lawyer, however, the desire to be a mom was always first in her heart. Matthew and Hope are blessed to have two beautiful children: 4-year-old son Mason and 18-month-old Madelyn.

Holding to her values, Hope decided to put her family first and is currently a stay-at-home mom. “I have my whole life to work, but I only have so much time to be with my family,” said Hope.

Matthew admits that Hope has the “Patience of a Saint.” He knows that he and the kids can be tough to handle, and he wants Hope to know she is the glue that holds them together.

When Hope gets time to relax, she enjoys visiting wineries, chatting with friends, having a spa day, or the occasional shopping trip. Matthew said Hope also has an uncanny knack for rearranging car bumpers and tail lights.

“She claims that she is the best driver in the family,” said Matthew. “But she has the bad habit of backing into any poles or cars unlucky enough to be stuck behind her.”

Rising car insurance premiums aside, some of Matthews’s favorite memories include the birth of their two children and purchasing their first house. “We didn’t have any furniture, so we had to spend the first few nights sleeping on a mattress on the ground,” he said with a smile.

Hope is a dedicated mother, wife and daughter. She lives out her values daily. She is a strong, beautiful and accomplished woman. Not only that, but she has a husband who adores her and two loving children.

Matthew has one last message for his beloved Hope: “You are the most caring mother and wife anyone could ask for. We are thankful, every day, that you chose us to be your family. You deserve the Best Mom Award.”
