For some couples, the key to a long-sustaining marriage is having the ability to balance one another out.
When Bob talks about his wife, Lynn, he talks about how they complement each other very well. Everything Bob cannot do, his wife is able to do, and to this day he still has a “wicked crush” on her.
“She means everything to me,” Bob said. “She’s my best friend. I don’t tell her enough how much I appreciate her and how much I love her. She’s everything to me. I thank God every day that she is my wife.”
Bob and Lynn are celebrating 30 years of marriage, and Bob is eternally grateful for his wife. He is so glad that he gets to spend every day of this journey called life together, and his love for her is the same as it was more than three decades ago.
“She’s beautiful inside and out,” Bob said. “I could tell right away she was a caring and thoughtful person. She’s funny and smart, and she made me comfortable and made me be myself. I knew right from the first date that she was the one.”
Everlasting love is difficult to come by, but in Bob’s case it is so much easier because of the woman he gets to love every day.
Lynn is such a wonderful person who is so caring for others, and her personality is one-of-a-kind. She is also a very loving mother and grandmother, and Bob admires seeing his wife exude nothing but love and compassion toward their kids and grandkids.
She has always prioritized the children, and everyone who knows her will tell you that she is nothing less than an amazing woman.
“It comes down to sacrifice,” Bob said. “When the kids were younger and growing up, she would sacrifice for the kids and the family. She would work 12 hour shifts during the weekends as a registered nurse so she could be there for them throughout the week. She definitely sacrifices a lot.”
If this sacrifice was not already prevalent, within the last couple of years Bob and Lynn have taken in his dad and her mom to live with them. Lynn has put her nursing skills to work at home, as she helped take care of Bob’s father in his final years, and she still helped to make sure her mother has everything she needs.
This selflessness should come as no surprise, either, as Lynn is someone who is there for everyone around her in every situation. She puts others before herself at all times, and she encourages everyone to treat others with nothing short of kindness.
“One thing I have learned from her is how to be a better person,” Bob said. “And to look at the positive side of things. She always looks at the glass half-full. She reminds me to have a positive attitude about everything and to respect people. She’s also always instilled a lot of confidence in me.”
Bob has learned so much from his wife, as she is something of a role model and someone that is just always uplifting.
It is not surprising at all that Bob falls more and more in love with Lynn each and every day, and he is looking forward to the future with her.
“I just want to express that she has provided our family with the perfect balance and keeps us grounded with her sense of humor,” Bob said. “She is the perfect wife, perfect mom and perfect grandma. She is my best friend and I would be lost without her. I do not tell her enough how much I love her. She does not get the appreciation she deserves.”
