Ryan & Parvonneh Gutter and their daughters

Three weeks. Twenty years. While these are two wildly different amounts of time, they both define the Gutter marriage as it stands today.

Ryan first met Parvonneh as servers at LaRosa’s. He had just been transferred to the Kentucky store from Ohio, and she wound up being his night shift reliever. It did not take long for Ryan to realize that Parvonneh was the one for him, and after just two days, he introduced her to a new waiter as the girl he was going to marry.

Well, after saying there was a problem with the way she stocked the salad bar, Parvonneh called Ryan to give him a piece of her mind (jokingly, of course), and after three weeks of knowing one another, Ryan got down on one knee and proposed. The rest, as they say, is history, as Ryan and Parvonneh got married a little over a year after that, and now they are celebrating 20 years of marriage.

“There is something to be said about the feeling you get when you know you have a strong partner for life,” Ryan said. “I know that, no matter what, she’s got my back and she knows I’ve got hers, and with that our individual possibilities are endless. We both believe that together we can do anything, and that is true. The thing is, though, because of that unconditional support and undying loyalty, we are both allowed to fail. If something doesn’t go right, it’s not the end of the world. We will get through it… together!”

Togetherness is a huge part of the Gutters’ marriage. There is a lot of give and take, and a whole lot of support. They love each other endlessly, and they certainly are there for each other at all times.

When you ask Ryan or any number of their friends, they will all tell you the same thing: Parvonneh is a one-of-a-kind woman. That is why Ryan realizes his wife is such a catch, and why he appreciates being married to her as much as he does.

“Parvonneh is kind, empathetic, fun and thoughtful beyond words, and when I say thoughtful, it’s like it’s her superpower,” Parvonneh’s best friend Kristi said. “The details about the people she loves – she commits to memory and pulls those details out at the most perfect time to make sure you feel loved – is my very favorite thing about Parvonneh.”

There are many other things about Parvonneh that make her the amazing woman that she is, as there are many great things to say about Ryan as well. They are the yin to each other’s yang, and their friends and family speak so highly of their relationship.

“Parvonneh leans into Gutter’s interests without fail, often even getting so into them that you forget whose interest it was initially,” Ryan’s best friend Royse said. “The love that it takes to make a desire your own speaks volumes to what the two of them can create together.”

When you get married, two become one, and that is certainly what happened when the Gutters said, “I do.” They intertwined their entire lives together, and they would not have it any other way.

They have not looked back either, as they have two amazing teenage daughters together who, in fact, also speak well to their parents’ relationship.

“While she’s quite the impressive mother, I can wholeheartedly say my mom lives and breathes for my father,” Jasmine and Isabella said. “I know she’d move heaven and earth for my dad through how compassionate and attentive she is. She speaks of nothing but pure adoration and admiration about him and is quite evidently over the moon for him. She goes the extra mile to curate his favorite cuisines and selects a good 40 percent of his wardrobe from the Kohl’s clearance rack. I’d say it’s very obvious that she loves him.”

When you have a love that your daughters speak highly of, that is when you know you are built to last. There is nothing that can get in the way of Ryan and Parvonneh, as they truly would do anything and everything for one another. They show up for each other and are one another’s pillar of support.

Of course, Ryan and many others will also tell you Parvonneh is a huge reason behind the Gutters’ successful marriage. She is the kind of person who just has such a tremendous personality, and she has the biggest heart.

“She loves fiercely and is loyal beyond all else,” Kristi said. “The love that this woman has shown me and others around her is to certainly be envied.”

Ryan is also the perfect puzzle piece in Parvonneh’s life. They fill in each other’s gaps and are truly right for each other.

“Gutter has the ability to meet the needs of Parvonneh before she even knows it is a need. And vice versa,” Royse said. “Their entire world revolves around the two of them being closer than ever.”

In their closeness, Ryan and Parvonneh are also sheer forces for those around them. As individuals, they are great friends and parents, but together their traits are even stronger. They care so much about not only each other, but about others as well, and so much that can be said about Parvonneh can be said about Ryan too.

“I love her determination and fierce loyalty to her family,” her husband said. “I love her humor and also her willingness to grind. She went back to college and graduated during COVID with her bachelor’s degree at the age of 41… WITH HONORS! She can do anything she wants and is motivated to do so.

“I love her face; it’s the best face. She’s incredibly intelligent and she is the best partner. She always has my back and knows that I always have hers. She is the best teammate and I couldn’t imagine ever doing anything without her. We also have nicknames – Rdot and Wifey – and we have fun with that too.”

With a relationship with pet names like that, it is no wonder they will continue to last for as long as they both shall live. They go above and beyond for one another, and they are each other’s ride or die.

These soulmates are incredible parents too, and Parvonneh as a mother in particular is something that deserves to be honed in on. Jasmine and Isabella are strong, courageous, smart, independent teenage girls because of their mother and her role model abilities, and Parvonneh is spoken highly of because of this.

“I find it terribly difficult to even define such a woman,” Jasmine and Isabella said when talking about their mother. “There are various adjectives and labels I could smother her identity in, but none of them would amass to the sum that is my mother.

“To begin, my mom is incredibly resilient; it’s as though she can seemingly combat any obstacle in her path with an envious ease and emerges with such an infectious smile on her face. My mom also is capable of making every moment spent with her oh-so-remarkable; so many of my most prominent memories were spent in the company of my mother.”

Life with Parvonneh is a blast, as she focuses on making it memorable for all those around her – especially her daughters. She has built a strong foundation for her daughters to lean on and learn from, and they have certainly done just that.

“We have a great relationship with our girls that is based on love and trust and fun,” Ryan said. “We love being out and doing things together such as sporting events, concerts, amusement parks and more. We listen to them both and allow them to succeed AND fail, and we are there to help guide them along the way!”

Sounds familiar, right? That is the foundation upon which Parvonneh and Ryan have built their own relationship and marriage, and it is the reason why they are such a model couple… and why 20 years is just the beginning of their wonderful journey together through life.

“When we met, we fell deeply in love hard and fast and so deep. All these years later, I love you more than I ever thought possible. I love our life together. I love our kids and everything we’ve built. Every day isn’t sunshine and rainbows, but that’s because every day shouldn’t be. We’ve learned that you can’t appreciate the sun without the clouds and the bad helps define the good. Rdot loves Wifey!” – Ryan
