Everything Matt and Mela Geipel have ever done together has been special. From all the little conversations they had in the Atlanta Airport breakroom to all the times they spend traveling, watching movies, attending church and spending time with their kids, Mela and Matt have a very special relationship built on togetherness.
Matt said he knew pretty early on in their relationship that he was going to marry Mela, and that is because of how special she is. Every time he was around her, he just felt something different, and that has not changed. He loves being in her presence each and every day, and his heart yearns to spend ample time with her.
His heart also realizes how great of a personality Mela has. She is someone who not only treats people right, but her morals and values are super sound. They are the entirety of her make-up, and Matt loves the fact that his wife has her priorities straight.
“She elevates me with her spiritual convictions,” he stated. “She won’t compromise and holds me accountable. I do not want to let her or our kids down. She forces me to be a better person and encourages me to be great. She is my biggest cheerleader and supporter. She challenges me to constantly seek new adventures and keep growing as a man and father physically, emotionally and spiritually.”
Basically, Matt is the man he is today because of the woman he married. Mela is the reason he gets up in the morning, and she is the one who makes him strive to be everything she and their children deserve. She is his cornerstone and the person he knows he can rely upon to always be in his corner.
Matt realizes Mela will always be in their children’s corners as well, as even though they are all growing up and at different stages in their lives, Mom makes sure to make herself readily available at the drop of a hat.
She has her kids’ backs, and she is a role model for them. She is a model of consistency, and that it is never too late to achieve your dreams. Mela started working toward her college degree at 45 and started her own business after many years as a stay-at-home mom, and Drake, Dylan and Sophia are all proud of her for that.
They are also super appreciative of their mother’s love and adoration for family, and the fact that she puts God in the front seat of her life. The kids, Matt and so many others realize Mela has her life figured out as best as anyone can, and that is because she is God first and family and friends second.
“Her unwavering commitment to her faith has made her an unbelievable wife, mother, sister and daughter-in-law,” Matt said. “Her values and character are second to none. She is beautiful inside and out.”
Mela loves going to church on Sundays, and she also loves being there for her loved ones. Her heart is always in the right place, and she is someone people look up to for very good reason.
“Mela is an amazing woman,” Matt said. “She is upbeat and positive despite many obstacles. She possesses loyalty, integrity, honesty and unfailing love. She is my rock and confidant. She is a great mother to our three kids and an exceptional wife to me. She is uncompromising and strong in our faith. Stubborn to a fault, but she is my greatest blessing. She is more beautiful now than when I met her.”
As Matt has grown with Mela throughout the years, he has had the privilege of seeing her really shape into an exceptional woman. She went from this amazingly beautiful girl to this stunningly gorgeous woman, and he does not complain about that one bit.
He also does not complain about Mela’s outstanding character.
“I admire her class and elegance. Her style and grace. Her strength and humility. Her steadfastness and strong faith,” Matt said. “Nothing phases her, and she holds me accountable. I’m a better man because of her.”
Because of Mela, Matt is in the best possible position to live his life to the fullest. She brings out his best side, and she makes him feel loved and appreciated.
He hopes she feels loved and appreciated as well, as Mela’s family really could not do it without her.
“When writing this story, it brought up a lot of emotions. Funny, sad, exciting, anxious memories. I tear up when I write down how special you are and what you mean to me. I know I don’t show or say it as much as I should. Even these words don’t do it justice. You may never know just what you mean to me or how special you are. I know that a life without you, is not a life worth having. You are truly irreplaceable.” – Matt
