‘My Strength’: Paul loves how much better Maureen makes his life

Born on the magical date 11/11 in Larchmont, New York, Maureen is the love of Paul’s life, and he is grateful they found their way to each other. Whether they are watching their guilty pleasure show – 90 Day Fiancée – or whether she is rooting for her favorite NFL teams (Tom Brady’s lone two teams) while drinking Coors Light out of a Patriots frozen glass, Paul just loves being with her.

“Maureen is hilarious. She is quick to laugh and says witty things all the time,” he said. “You can take her anywhere, with anybody, and she makes friends with them instantly. She also knows the perfect greeting card to buy for any occasion. She is the best I know at buying gifts, and I think that is because she pays attention to the needs of other people. Her kids always said their Mom organized the best parties.”

Maureen is the kind of friend that anyone wishes they had in their lives. She is reliable, beautiful, humble and genuine, and she shows a lot of compassion in every regard.

Not only that, but Maureen’s personality is unmatched. And it goes far beyond just her uncanny ability to create countless memories (i.e. the trash and waste oil bonfire after Army-Navy 2023, the New Zealand trip with her son Blake, and betting quarters at the sprint car races). Maureen pushes people and brings out the best in everyone while working harder than anyone else in her circle.

Paul is also attracted to his wife’s integrity. She is super bright, which would explain why she passed the bar exam and had a career in law before becoming a salesperson.

“I admire her wisdom,” Paul said. “She is the smartest woman I know. I love her ability to make anyone comfortable. We can sit and watch people for hours and make each other laugh with funny observations.”

Maureen is an easy woman to get along with, and that is because she treats everyone right. She fights for things she cares about, and she loves unlike any other.

Speaking of which, Maureen is a great role model of a mother. We asked Blake what he learned from his mother, and he said she taught him patience, kindness and strength. She is battle-tested, and she passed that down to Blake.

She is also the one person he can lean on. He calls her up whenever he needs anything, and she is right there for him.

“My mom means the world to me! She is someone who I think about every day,” Blake said. “There are certain things such as her favorite songs that she would play in the car when I was a kid, as well as funny inside jokes that we had, that make me think of her so often.”

Paul also thinks of his wife every time they are not in the same room together, and that is because he really counts himself lucky. He loves his life with her, whether it is as simple as getting gelato at the Chumash, or planning their next trip, he admires everything about her.

He appreciates the way she brings out the best in him as well. Paul’s the man he is today because of what he has learned from his wife, and he is grateful.

“Maureen pushes me,” Paul said. “She is not content to cruise through life. She is always looking for a new adventure and experience. She is an equal partner in every way. It is what makes our relationship easy; we both work hard to make it successful.”

Their relationship started with the perfect first date, and it has expanded into so much more. Maureen brings so much joy into their marriage, and she is the only woman who can make watching a brainless reality show a fun experience for Paul.

Maureen is also a woman with such great character. Once you have earned her trust, she is not shy about sharing her views.

“She is very flexible and playful,” Blake said. “She loves to share all activities with him, and they have made so many memories together. I am very grateful that I was able to join them in many of those experiences as well.”

Maureen and Blake have a unique mother/son relationship due to the bond they formed during the challenges of Blake’s early childhood. Paul sometimes strains that bond by corrupting Blake with Polka dancing TV shows or insisting they go to Roscoe’s for chicken and waffles. 

Of course, Maureen means so much to everyone in her life as well. No matter how close or distant they may be, she is always thinking of her friends and family.

“I want her to know how much I love her. I don’t know how to put into words how much I love her and how much I appreciate her. Because of our shared difficult past relationships, sometimes it is hard not to be on the defensive in case things change. We have been together for six years, and our relationship is stronger than ever. I have found a woman I don’t have to be on defense with anymore.” – Paul
