If there was a theme for Jackie Butts’ life, it would be “care.”
Jackie is a very caring and heartfelt individual, and she would certainly do anything for anyone. She is someone who is always there, and when her husband Patrick talks about her, so many of the qualities she possesses always comes back to her caring heart.
Born and raised in Hamilton to Marianne and David Gilmour, she also has one sibling Susan who she loves dearly.
“She is always there for me and her family,” Patrick said.
From being there for her parents and sister to being there for her husband and daughters, one thing is for certain in Jackie’s life, and that is the fact that family is the top priority.
Jackie looks out for her loved ones in every situation, but the people she certainly looks out for with just a little extra love are her daughters, Paige (23) and Natalie (20). There is nothing Jackie would not do for her two girls.
From the moment they were born, Paige and Natalie became Jackie’s number one priority, and that is something Patrick really appreciates. He knows that his daughters are growing up to be amazing young adults because of the love and support they had from their mother, and he is grateful they have such a wonderful role model in Jackie.
“She is very caring and always puts my daughters’ needs above her own,” Patrick said. “Even now at their age, she is always there.”
There’s that caring word again. Jackie cares deeply about her daughters, and they both know they can count on their mom to be there for them. No matter how old they are, they know they will always be a huge priority.
All the while Jackie is an extraordinary mother, she is also an excellent friend to many. She is someone who you know you can count on in any situation, including all her furry friends who she holds a strong passion for.
“She is caring, warm and always there for the one she loves and is a great lover of animals,” Patrick said.
People know they can call up Jackie in any situation and that she will be there for them at the drop of a hat. Jackie loves and cares hard, and her character is special.
Plus, Jackie is an extra special wife who Patrick feels lucky to be married to. They might be polar opposites in many ways, but that is what attracts them to one another. They complement each other very well, and they are certainly soulmates.
Patrick said that in the time he has been married to Jackie, he has also learned so much from her. She helps make him a better person each and every day, and he cannot even begin to imagine what life would be like without her.
“She elevates me in every way,” Patrick said. “I don’t know what I would do without her.”
Throughout the years, Patrick and Jackie have also made many special memories together. However, when you ask Patrick about it, he will tell you that every moment with his wife is special, and that making him choose his favorite memory is difficult because the memories are countless.
“Every day is a favorite memory,” Patrick said. “If I had to pick some, I would say the two weeks we spent in Banff Alberta and were married in the mountains, and of course when both of my daughters were born.”
When you are with someone as special and amazing as Jackie is, every day starts to seem better than the last. Every waking moment together is truly remarkable because Patrick gets to be married to the person that he always knew he was meant to be with.
“We used to be two very opposite people, but we always managed to make it work,” Patrick said. “I just knew she was the one I wanted to spend the rest of my life with.”
And boy was that the right decision. It is a decision that Patrick would make 100 times out of 100 if he got the chance to do it all over again, and that shows you just how much he loves and cherishes his wife.
People like Jackie do not come around too often, and there is a reason why so many people love her as much as they do. She is appreciated beyond measure, loved beyond words and she is never taken for granted by the ones she loves.
