It all started with a hotel’s double booking and a planned kiss.
Back in 2011, Tom and Veronika Chwieroth went on a road trip with some friends to attend a Volkswagen car show. Low and behold, after everyone started checking into their hotel rooms, both Rom and Veronika’s happened to be double booked. So they decided to go to a different hotel and book a room together to split the cost.
Well, that week wound up turning into one of the most magical weeks of Tom’s life, as he began to realize this beautiful girl he was sharing a hotel room with was someone he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. They fell in love that week, and eventually got married.
What is even crazier is they live in the same house where they had their first kiss. Tom threw a house party and purposefully blocked Veronika from being able to leave in her car. He went out, they shared a kiss and the rest is history.
“The longer I spent time with her, the more I loved her,” Tom said. “She was like an onion. We were finding out that we had more and more in common each day. I started thinking ‘how can I not be with this girl forever?’ She’s perfect for me.”
When you realize you have a good thing, you work hard to never let it go. That is exactly what Tom has done with Veronika, as he has never let his love for her waver. He has made sure to hold on tight to her and be the best version of himself, because she deserves the best.
Veronika is a happy, caring, hardworking individual. She will do anything for her family, and she puts her best foot forward at work each and every day.
Veronika is a role model in many ways, especially to her two little girls. She is someone they both love and look up to, and Tom is grateful to be raising two daughters with such an amazing mother.
As a mother, Veronika will not let anything happen to her girls. She makes sure she shows nothing but love and compassion for them both, and she is constantly supporting and nurturing them.
Veronika just loves getting to spend any amount of time with Stella and Emilia that she can, and she proves her love for them time and time again.
“We love playing with our girls,” Tom said. “Making them smile brings us the most joy. At night, we like to watch sports together. We are fans of the Philly sports teams – Eagles; 76ers; Phillies; Flyers.”
Family time is the most important time for the Chwieroths, and that is one of the many reasons Tom fell in love with Veronika in the first place. He could tell how much she cherished quality time with her loved ones, and he knew that would lead to them building a wonderful family together.
In fact, there is nothing that makes Veronika happier than being around the people she is closest to, and Tom is more than okay with that.
“What makes her happy is bringing a smile to everyone in the house,” he said. “She is the least selfish person I’ve ever known. She sacrifices so much to make sure we are all taken care of.”
Veronika does everything for everyone else, and Tom is in constant admiration of her for this. He also constantly admires the fact that he gets to wake up by her side every day. She is the love of his life and an absolute beaut to look at, and he definitely found himself a gem.
He loves getting to make memories with her too, and in the five years they’ve been married and the over 11 years they’ve known each other, there have been a lot of special moments between this couple.
“We traveled the world together,” Tom said. “We’ve been to Cozumel, Germany, Poland, Egypt, Costa Rica and Cancun. Those trips were all unforgettable.”
Of course, no marriage is perfect either, and while there have been some bumps along the way, Tom knows that as long as he and Veronika stick together, there is nothing they cannot get through.
“During all the hardest parts of our time together, we always had each other’s back,” Tom said. “We never have to go through it alone. Knowing that is important.”
Having someone you can always trust and rely upon is something that you should not take for granted, and Tom certainly does not.
That is why, as he celebrates five years of being married to the love of his life, all the reflections he has of her are positive.
“V, it’s been amazing going back in time and thinking about all the things we’ve been through. All the ups and downs. How we met. Our first kiss. Traveling. It’s easy to forget about all that now that we have two kids. Our past has shaped us into the best team. More importantly, the best parents. Now we are in the newest stage of our lives, and I wouldn’t want to go through it with anyone else!” – Tom
