If your company is hiring, you should consider hiring a veteran

Between veterans being one of our main story categories and the fact that we are partnered with AMVETS to bring exclusive Veteran of the Month stories to their deserving members, we are doing everything we can to help give veterans the proper spotlight they deserve.

That said, National Hire a Veteran Day is a holiday we don’t take lightly. There is a large number of veterans out there without a home, let alone a huge number of veterans without a job, which is a big reason why this holiday was enacted.

In the year 2022, as more and more companies are looking to bring in employees at any cost, every business that is looking to hire people should consider hiring a veteran or two. It not only helps to solve many crises that are currently happening, but there are also a lot of benefits to hiring veterans.

1. Veterans are dedicated. Just like how they were dedicated to fighting for your country, they will be dedicated to the job and are likely going to be there for the long haul. This can help with employee turnover rates as well as the issue of hiring people who do not truly want to work.
2. Veterans are leaders. When you hire a veteran, you know that you are going to have someone who is willing to step up when needed. They are going to be ready to take on any task you give them, plus they are going to help motivate their coworkers.
3. What you see is what you get. When it comes to veterans, they are not going to beat around the bush. They are going to tell things like it is, but they are also going to stay true to who they are. You know what you are getting when you hire a veteran, and that makes a world of difference.
4. You are hiring experience. With veterans, the likelihood of them having worked other jobs is pretty high. Rather than bringing in inexperienced people on a consistent basis, bringing in a veteran helps change the notion.
5. Veterans are ethical. It is ingrained in veterans’ brains the importance of ethics, so you know you are getting an employee who is not going to give anything less than 100 percent effort and they are not going to take anything from the company that is not theirs.
6. Veterans can give you tax breaks. While this is not necessarily seen as the most ethical reason for hiring a veteran, it could be seen as the most logical. In a day and age where every dollar counts for businesses, there are a lot of potential salary benefits to hiring veterans.

There are plenty of other reasons to hire veterans to work for your company, including the fact that they are probably going to increase the value of your business, but these are just six of the ones that stuck out to me.

It can be easy for veterans to be forgotten about, but here at MyFrontPageStory.com we do not want that to be the case. And no, I am not saying that you should make the choice to hire one employee prospect over another because they are a veteran, but at the same time, their experience and value will speak for themselves, so it would not surprise me if they wound up being the better candidate of the two nine times out of 10.

All that said, for all you businesses that are looking for employees right now, consider going the route of a military veteran. Chances are, they won’t disappoint.
