Kent and Kathy Pfrimmer in front of Kent's Meat & Groceries

Kent’s Meats & Groceries has been in business in Redding, CA, for 45 years, and in that time, Kent and Kathy Pfrimmer have turned their grocery store into so much more than just a grocery store. They have focused on building a community and creating a family within the confines of their workplace, and it is not difficult to understand why they have so many long-term employees working for them.

For Kent and Kathy, hard work comes naturally. They have always put their best foot forward, and the success of their store speaks for itself. They have worked countless hours over the years to build a business that is community oriented, and anyone who knows Kent and Kathy knows they are no slackers.

All the while, Kent and Kathy have remained a very family-oriented couple on the home front. While they have dedicated so much of their lives to their store, it does not replace being parents, grandparents and great grandparents.

Day in and day out, when the Pfrimmers were not working, they were raising their family. Their kids all realize how much their parents truly did for them, and they are grateful for that.

“They were always there and present for us,” their daughter Lorri said. “They’ve always been hard working. They’ve taught their kids, grandkids and great grandkids the value of hard work. They are kind people. Mom and Dad are very helpful and giving too. They are community-oriented.”

As parents, Kent and Kathy have been role models to their kids. They have shown them all that hard work and dedication pays off.

As grandparents, they have been present in their grandchildren’s lives. They have tried to be at as many important events and milestones as possible.

As great grandparents, Kent and Kathy just love spending time with them and spoiling them. They show what a true patriarch and matriarch of the family is supposed to look like, and they are appreciated for such.

Kent and Kathy are very selfless and caring individuals on top of everything else as well. They love serving the people in their community, and they love giving back in any way possible. They will never shy away from helping someone out who is in need, and people are thankful for that.

Kent and Kathy’s loving nature has truly helped turn Kent’s Meats & Groceries into what it is today. It is centered around creating a familial bond, and everyone who works there feels as though they are part of something special. It is more than just a workplace when you show up to work at Kent’s Meats & Groceries, and employees and customers alike are drawn to that.

“They love everybody, and everyone seems to love them right back,” long-time employee Jeffery Marvel said. “Kent is also an incredible businessman. He can take a penny and squeeze $10 out of it.”

At the end of the day, Kent’s Meats & Groceries is a business, and the way it is run makes it a successful one at that. When the guy at the top is able to sell his product by just having a simple non-work-centric phone call, you know he is doing something right.

And to be running a business with your loving and devoted wife makes it that much better. Kent and Kathy both love each other very much, and getting to spend essentially every moment of every day together has helped their love grow even stronger.

“They’ve been together since they were very, very young,” Lorri said. “I think they’ve been together 62 years. They take care of one another. They have an old-fashioned relationship. That’s something you don’t see much anymore. They have that very traditional relationship.”

Kent and Kathy are a wonderful couple with exceptional morals and values, and they are made for each other. They have an unbreakable bond, and their kids, grandkids and great grandkids all realize this.

They love all getting to spend time together, especially when it involves the 49ers. In fact, Kent and Kathy’s loyalty to everything in life is so strong they have made sure to attend or watch every San Francisco football game possible. They love their Niners the way they love their family and their employees, and for that reason Kent’s Meats & Groceries is a wonderful place to support.
