Honest. Compassionate. Empathetic.
Selfless. Caring. Responsible.
Open-minded. Grateful. Non-judgmental.
These are just a few of the many infinite ways to describe Krista MacQuarrie. She is a super loving and caring individual who would do anything for anyone, and she has made a difference in the lives of so many.
She has played an especially important role in the lives of two people in particular: her son and her partner. To both of them she is their everything. She shows them what true love looks like, and neither of them could imagine a life without her.
“Krista is my best friend and she is my world,” her partner David said. “My life is complete because she’s in it.”
From the moment Krista entered his life, David became instantly happier and gained a new perspective on life. She has helped him trust and he has also learned how to love unconditionally. Plus, on top of that, Krista helped David through a very rough and difficult time in his life and single-handedly put him together again piece by piece.
Long story short, without her, David would be lost. He would not be the same person he is today if not for his amazing partner, and he could not be more grateful for her.
David is not just grateful for the impact his better half has made on his life either. He is grateful for the woman she is and the amazing character she has. She is a woman with a big heart and an outstanding personality, and anyone who knows her knows this.
“She’s smart, driven, very independent, and stubborn – she doesn’t like to ask for any help,” David said. “She’s caring, understanding, and a great listener without judgment. She’s genuinely humble and unassuming. She put herself through culinary school while working a job and raising Owen alone. She’s amassed numerous awards and achievements throughout her career so far while at the same time raising a terrific young man. She’s an unbelievably caring mom, she’s beautiful, funny, incredibly sexy and melts me every time she walks in the room.”
There is something about the light in Krista’s eyes that lights up any room she walks into. She can smile and change anybody’s mood in a heartbeat too.
She is also the kind of person who can teach just about anybody anything. Krista realizes life is full of teachable moments, and she takes full advantage of that.
“I’ve learned how to be selfless, caring and responsible,” Owen said. “She taught me everything she could and would go above and beyond to explain/teach me something. She taught me how to respect people and how to maturely deal with people who didn’t respect me. She always tried her hardest and rarely failed.”
To her son, Krista is a superhero in many ways. She is the role model he has always looked up to, as she is a hard worker who has shown him the importance of treating others fairly, while also not taking anything from anyone.
Speaking of this relationship, Krista has always been a phenomenal mother to Owen. She is the one person he has always been able to count on, and she is the one true constant in his life. She has been there for everything he has ever done, and he knows his life would not be the same without her in it.
“My mom means everything to me,” Owen said. “I’ve always been able to rely on her no matter what and confide in her in tough moments. I always know I can tell her anything or ask for anything and she’ll try her best to help. She means more than anything else to me. She’s one of the few people I harbour absolute trust and respect for.”
Owen loves his mother and he appreciates her more than she realizes. As do many others. She plays a significant role in so many people’s lives, and she is a true differencemaker.
From working two jobs just to provide for her son to being a tremendous product development chef, Krista works hard and does it all. She is the kind of person many can learn from, and she is the kind of person many should look up to.
“This is important. I learned that there is an US,” David said. “Those simple two letters have never meant more to me or made more sense than they do today.”
As long as you have each other, that is all that truly matters. And for both David and Owen, they have Krista. They have the woman they can always count upon, and the person who will not ever let them down.
“She listened and I felt that she genuinely cared about how I was doing,” David said about what stuck out about Krista right off the bat. “Especially given the fact I was a firefighter for 25 years in a big city and had lots of issues of my own to get fixed.”
Krista has always been there and that is not going to change. She is going to be in her son and partner’s corners, and she is going to be their life and breath. Krista is their everything, and they love her so much for such good reason.
“I’m thankful for Krista’s strength and the way she believed in me, never wavering during a time in my life that I’m not sure I believed in myself and struggling to find my way out of a dark place. She’s incredible!! She is the reason why there is an US and, as she so eloquently stated quite a while ago, it feels so amazing; it feels like home. She is without a doubt the strongest person I know, and that makes me a very lucky man, and not a day goes by that I’m not thankful for that.” – David
