The Flashfood Team and Shoppers have been lucky enough to be partnered with Stop & Shop since 2021. In that time, 300 stores have established Flashfood zones, and close to 1.3 million pounds of waste have been diverted from landfills.
The success of this partnership between Flashfood and Stop & Shop would not be possible without the individuals in the grocery stores to help make things possible by establishing Flashfood zones. And there are two individuals in particular who stand for everything both Flashfood and Stop & Shop stand for.
The first is store manager Kim Marsen. After recently transferring stores, Marsen has made her impact felt since day one at both, especially when it comes to Flashfood. She has been an advocate for Flashfood since their Stop & Shop partnership arose, and she consistently pushes Flashfood in her community as a whole.
Both Flashfood and Stop & Shop are thankful for the impact Marsen has made for them, as she is constantly reaching out with positive feedback and new ideas for the partnership. She serves as the sustainability and green captain for her district as well, and Marsen even launched the single user posting method in her store.
The second individual that is being recognized is Stop & Shop’s Registered Dietitian Christine Sinclair. Sinclair brings about a different perspective to the entire partnership, as she looks at things from the health and wellness perspective.
She has helped champion Flashfood across the entire supermarket chain of Stop & Shop, and she uses the partnership with Flashfood to help create a mend between healthy eating and underprivileged communities. Plus, she invited Flashfood to take part in Wellness Week last August, and her commitment and determination are appreciated by both Flashfood and Stop & Shop.
Without people like these two individuals, the partnership between the regional supermarket chain and food waste-saving app would not be where it is today.
In fact, the impact of these individuals and the partnership as a whole are spoken very highly of by many consumers, showing what they are doing is all worthwhile.
