Vicki Worden is a woman blessed with many gifts. Some gifts a person can see or sense just being in her presence. For instance, you can’t spend more than five minutes around Vicki and not see she will be the strongest, most caring advocate for a person.
Other talents are the kind that you have to be there to witness – such as her voice as she sings in front of crowds. Vicki was born in 1967, which makes her a part of generation X. The stereotypical X generation is seen as apathetic and disillusioned, but Vicki is anything but.
Vicki was born and has lived her life in and around Independence, Missouri. Her career has been in the legal field in numerous roles from paralegal to managing the litigation process for her firm. Vicki raised a family boys – Josh, Cory and Nick – into strong men by focusing clearly and intently on what her values were – family, faith and love.
Vicki’s husband, Carl, said this about his admiration for her: “you live your life on your terms and focus on what is and who is truly important in life. Your love knows no bounds and your smile, beauty and personality light up every room you enter.”
Life doesn’t always move in a straight line as an adult, and Vicki’s life has been no exception. She has lived it with drive and strength – with an individual spirit that has always steered her to the place she needed to be, and with the people who needed to be there. One such person was Carl.
Carl says that he knew from the first time he was around Vicki that there was something deep and special about her. And even though their paths took time to merge together, Vicki’s presence left such a lasting impression upon him that even though years passed, she never left his mind.
“When you came back in my life, you instantly made me feel alive and gave me purpose to be a better man. It’s crazy that our entire lives prior to us coming together had us in orbit around each other. I’m grateful to God that allowed our lives to cross. You are an absolute blessing to me.”
People who live with such love and compassion often share that gift with the people around them, but also to four-legged friends as well. Vicki’s compassion for animals, especially dogs, is an important anecdote to understanding the depth of care and love she shares.
Vicki spends free time fostering and looking for homes for homeless dogs that need someone to care for them. Lost dogs oftentimes are hard work, with no value proposition, but Vicki does it anyway. She loves because she loves and not because there is some hope for a return.
Reflecting about his love and admiration for Vicki, Carl said, “You have unwavering love, amazing drive, incredible talent, and a passion for making the world better for those you love. You helped me focus on what’s important and taught me what true love is. I’m a better husband, father and man because of you. I love you more than life itself and hate our time apart. Whether we’re out together or home, I want you with me. You’re my heart, my soul, my life.
