Nana has been married to her wonderful husband, aka Yaya, for over 50 years, and for that and many other reasons, her grandchildren look up to her.
Born in Ireland back in 1945, Nana has spent most of her time in Canada. It was in Ireland where she met her husband and Canada where they built a family, and the latter is where so many memories have been shared with her grandkids.
It is also where Nana has shined her wonderful personality on others. She is a kind and compassionate individual, and she has a lot of selflessness in her heart as well.
“Nana is patient, kind and caring, and is always available to help out,” her son Ted said. “She makes sure she talks to Claire and Sean every day, and she loves to visit Keano. She will drop everything and help out her grandchildren if they need to be somewhere. Her friends love her laughter.”
As a friend, there is no one you want in your corner more than Nana (who is known by her given name of Olive to all her friends). She cares so much and makes sure they know she is supportive of all their endeavors.
She is the exact same way as a Nana, along with being the kind of grandmother who spoils her grandchildren. She loves to create special memories every step of the way, and she is also the kind of Nana who they constantly go to for advice and support.
“She’s always available, always willing to help, listens to grandchildren, loves to cook Sunday dinners, and makes Claire and Sean feel very valuable,” Ted said. “She always encourages her grandchildren to do their best.”
Nana is the beacon of hope Claire and Sean carry with them. They know they have the matriarch of the family in their corners of life, and it is a good reminder to them day in and day out.
What is also good for Claire and Sean is the way Nana will never let them go without anything. Claire and Sean are 20 and 18 respectively, and their grandmother is still the kind of grandmother who shows up at a moment’s notice.
“She’s always available and drops everything for her grandchildren,” Ted said.
Nana is a great listener too, and she spreads kindness wherever she goes. This bodes well for her grandchildren, as they both look up to her as a role model.
She loves to crack jokes too, as everything about Nana is just truly special. She loves her family, her friends and everyone in between, and she is the epitome of a truly amazing woman.
