When push comes to shove, Ryan Ward knows he could not do it without his amazing wife, Lindsay. She is there through all the hard times and through all the good ones, and she cares so much for her family and friends.
Not only that, but Lindsay’s heart is absolutely extraordinary. She puts everyone else way before herself, and this is shown day in and day out when she is at work. Lindsay is a teacher, and she is a teacher who people respect and look up to.
“Lindsay is a fantastic teacher,” Ryan said. “She’s been teaching for 16 years. She originally wanted to be a middle school teacher with the hopes of coaching and giving back while teaching. However, her first contract was teaching a kindergarten class and she fell in love with the little ones. Her understanding and patience contribute to her being a loving and caring teacher the parents and kids all love.”
When you have Mrs. Ward, you know she is going to have your best interests in mind. She is going to look out for what is best for you as a student and as a human being, and she has a way of helping her kindergarten students develop into astute children.
Lindsay does that everywhere else as well. Lindsay is always showing up to people’s activities (especially her boys’ sporting events), and she loves cheering people on. If you know Lindsay, you have a friend for life and someone who is always going to look after you.
“I admire Lindsay’s ability to be so selfless,” Ryan said. “She is the ultimate mother. Whatever the family needs, they come first. She makes the boys feel so special all the time. She has done this since the boys were born, she always celebrates the boys’ half birthdays. Every six months from their actual birthday, she’s blowing up balloons for them or making a special breakfast or dinner for them. She’s just always making them feel as special as they are.”
Carter and Greyson come before anything and anyone else, and this is one of the many things Ryan admires about his lovely wife. She is their sons’ constant beacons of support, and she is the mother of all mothers.
Lindsay balances tough love with her unconditional love, and that is something Ryan finds remarkable. She is the sounding board for Carter and Greyson, and she is also a role model of consistency and positivity.
“She’s always honest with the boys, even if it’s not what they want to hear,” Ryan said. “Being open with the boys and showing how to communicate is a strong suit of hers. She is always reminding everyone to be kind to everyone. That is the teacher in her.”
Whether she is with her boys, her students, her friends or anyone else, Lindsay is constantly finding the teachable moments in life. She makes sure everyone is kind before anything else, as she believes everyone deserves to be treated the same.
Lindsay does not skimp out on making core memories either. She brings her positivity wherever she goes, and every moment spent with Lindsay has a chance to be memorable.
From her competitiveness on and off the golf course, to her quarterly “giggle seshes” at Ryan’s expense, life with Lindsay is never dull.
”Lindsay is very competitive and doesn’t like to lose at many things, a characteristic that drew me in from the start of our relationship,” Ryan said.
“She does have some traditions that she has brought into our family,” Ryan added. “At Christmas time, when it is time to decorate the Christmas tree, we put on Christmas music and decorate or ‘trim’ the tree and eat Old Dutch ripple chips and French onion dip.”
It’s these traditions that will live in Ryan, Carter and Greyson’s minds forever, as they are things that mean the world to their wife/mother, who means the world to them.
All that said, Lindsay is just an outright amazing human being who a lot of people could learn a thing or two from. She has a heart of gold. She is a woman of character, and it comes as no surprise that Ryan is unbelievably excited to celebrate many, many more birthdays with his soulmate.
“I just want to say THANK YOU. Thank you for being the person you are; the mom you are; the wife you are. In everything you do, you always look to put others first. Teaching is such a selfless profession. You’re trying to always find ways to make your family feel special and sometimes forgetting you’re so special yourself. I want you to know how much Greyson, Carter and I love you!!!” – Ryan
