‘She Means the World’: Erika Hammons is an amazing, supportive, kind, thoughtful and generous wife, friend and soon-to-be mom

Erika Hammons is always willing to put herself before others, even in the most challenging and difficult situations. She is an ICU nurse, and COVID has made things challenging, but she has consistently imposed her will upon these challenges.

“Erika has been right in the middle of this COVID pandemic and has worked tirelessly to treat so many sick patients,” her husband, Nick, said. “She is such a selfless person to take care of people who have had their lives turned upside down.”

The pandemic has been tough on a lot of people, and it has been no different for nurses. Despite all of this, Erika has remained the selfless, loving nurse that she always has been.

When she is not at work, Erika is at home, spending time with Nick and preparing for their daughter, Mallary, to be born at the turn of the new year.

“Erika loves to spend time with our two dogs, Griffin and Gemma, by taking them on walks and just hanging out with them,” Nick said. “With our daughter expected in January, Erika has been setting up our nursery room and making it look incredible! Mallary will be so lucky to have a mom like her!”

Just seeing the way she is preparing for Mallary, Nick knows that Erika is going to be a wonderful mom. He is excited for their baby to be born, and he cannot wait to raise a daughter with his wife.

“What is there not to admire? She’s gorgeous, easygoing, very funny and we enjoy a lot of the same hobbies,” Nick said. “I just love how hardworking she is in goals professionally and personally.”

In everything in life, Erika strives to do it with excellence. She works hard and exceeds every challenge that comes her way. This is the personality Nick fell in love with, and he is glad he gets to spend many decades with her.

They love spending time together. From going on weekend trips to Lake Chelan, Leavenworth, Ocean Shores and Seaside, to spending time together at home, not a day goes by that the Hammons’ do not appreciate the time they spend together.

“Erika is the most amazing person I’ve ever met,” Nick said. “She has such an incredible work ethic, she’s selfless and puts others first and has helped me to achieve many of my own goals. I’ve never met someone who has supported me as much as she has.”

Nick lost his job during the pandemic, and Erika has been by his side, supporting him every step of the way. He worked toward his teaching degree and now, thanks to her, he has his first teaching job.

What started out as Nick bringing non-alcoholic wine on their second date has led to six-plus months of a wonderful marriage with a kid on the way. Nick has found his person, and he said he would feel lost without her. The advice she instills in and the joy she brings him every day makes it all worthwhile.
