Daxton Byers plotted out the next step in his football future on Wednesday with a big commitment to North Texas. The versatile 6-5, 295-pounder chose the Mean Green over offers from Central Oklahoma Columbia, Eastern Michigan, Missouri State, Navy, Ohio, Texas State and Western Illinois.
Byers is an intriguing prospect with a three-star grade from 247Sports. He has a long, massive frame but experience playing offensive tackle, tight end and defensive end. Byers has nimble feet to engage in pass protection and the physical attitude to explode off the ball and push defenders around in the run game.
