We would be lost without her

Kim Ray is an amazing wife and mother who has dedicated herself to caring for her family.

Her husband, David, said her attention to detail keeps the family running smoothly, especially when it comes to their kids, Cade and Ryann.

“Kim loves to plan, so she prepares everything for the kids, including school, after school and activities a couple of days in advance,” David said. “That is the project manager coming out in her, which is good because we would be lost without her.”

Kim worked in healthcare for over 20 years as a project manager in well over 100 hospitals across the nation. However, she is now a stay-at-home mom and volunteers at the kids’ elementary school, which she says is the best job she has ever had.

When she has free time, Kim loves swimming and being at the beach, and going to the mountains in the winter. But, because family means the most to her, she loves spending time with David and the kids.

David and Kim met in West Palm Beach, Florida, when she was living there, and he went out to meet some clients for work. His aunt and uncle are best friends with her parents, so they believed they were set up, which they found out later was true.

He was only given her name and phone number as they planned to meet at a restaurant, so he was nervous, but they met and had dinner.

“We ended up eating and having a bottle of wine and talking for a few hours,” he said. “We definitely hit it off, so I ended up extending my stay for another day to hang out with her.”

After that first date, they talked every day and traveled a few times to see each other. David said he knew she was “The One” about a month after he met her. Kim moved back to Texas about six months later and they got serious, and they have been married for 15 years.

As a couple they enjoy sitting outside around the fire pit and listening to music, swimming, and sitting down and watching TV shows or sports. To David and Kim, it’s really just about just spending time together.

“We have made a lot of memories together, but some of the best ones are traveling to the beach in different countries and just hanging out by the pool or ocean,” David said. “Our favorite place to travel to is Costa Rica, which was amazing.”

David said he admires how strong Kim is as a person and mother. She is loving, kind, considerate, and to the point. She isn’t afraid to tell someone what is on her mind even if they don’t want to hear it at times, but it’s usually for their own good.

He added that she also has a good sense of humor so she can take jokes and can give it right back.

Kim makes David strive to be a better person every day because he wants to be better for her, so she is proud of him as a husband and father.

“If I can be better and happy every day and try and live through her eyes, then that is a win in my book,” he said.

Kim is passionate about her family and friends and will do anything for them. She has a strong head on her shoulders, and she is confident, eager, and loving. David said that no matter the circumstance, they can get through anything thanks to her confidence and tenacity.

“She does so much for our family and friends, and the kids and I truly appreciate her,” David said. “She amazes me every day with the way she carries herself and acts toward everyone she meets. I can’t wait to wake up next to her to get the day going and can’t wait to get home to see her after work and go to sleep with her every night. She is the most amazing woman I have ever met, and I wouldn’t be where I am today without her. She is my everything and I couldn’t imagine being with anyone else. I am blessed to be married to my best friend and my partner in crime. Kim, I will love you forever.”
