‘The Perfect One’: Rachel is Jon’s best friend and the most amazing mother to their two girls

“When you know, you know.”

This is exactly how Jon Cross felt moments before proposing to his amazing girlfriend of just over a year, Rachel. He took the opportunity to throw some quick little lines in, like mentioning about finding the “perfect one,” one day when they were picking out Christmas trees. Little did Rachel know at the time that this was Jon’s sly little way of leading into getting down on one knee to propose.

Within just over a 21-month time span, they began dating, got engaged and got married, and it is all because Jon knew he landed the perfect girl. Rachel is the perfect person for Jon, and he is super grateful for his wife of over six years.

He is grateful for her personality and her character, as she is a super selfless individual who would do anything for anyone. Rachel loves people and she never lets that love waver.

She also has the keen ability to put herself last. It does not matter who is involved or the reason she is doing it, she is always going to put everyone else in front of her.

“She places everyone’s needs above her own,” Jon said. “Rachel is one of the most genuinely caring people I’ve ever met. She was born to be a mom, wife and teacher. She’s hardworking, caring and compassionate. She is the most gorgeous woman I’ve ever met in my life. I knew very early on I wanted to marry Rachel.”

As a teacher, Rachel is super genuine and compassionate. She has always been invested in all her students’ lives, and when she returns to the classroom next year, her presence will be felt.

As a mother, Rachel is super dedicated. She is already something of a role model to Alana and Ainslee, and Jon loves seeing their mother-daughter connections grow stronger each day.

As a wife, Rachel is truly as supportive and devoted as they come. She has been an Army wife who understood and pushed through all the hardships that came with that. And now Rachel is a SWAT Team Leader’s wife who realizes there are a lot of times where he has to be on his phone for work.

“There’s not many wives as wonderful as her,” Rachel’s best friend who helped set the Cross couple up, Felicia, said. “Her husband (no matter the circumstance) comes first. Her love and loyalty to him is unmatched. I love that she makes sure she spends one-on-one time with Jon. Her time with him means a lot to her.”

If you find a wife who cherishes her time with you infinitely more than she cherishes her alone time, you need to hold onto that girl at all costs.

This is exactly what Jon did, and that is why he works hard to not ever put their relationship in jeopardy. He knows the amount of time he is away from home at times can be very difficult, and that is why he cherishes the backing and the love of his wife so much.

“Rachel is the most important person in the world to me,” Jon said. “We have both probably saved each other. Both of us have endured struggles in our lives in losing people (her sister and I lost friends in combat), and have had previous bad relationships. Once we found each other and realized how good things could be, we couldn’t believe we ever settled for anything less.”

Jon and Rachel are the perfect match. They complement each other so well, and they hold each other as close as any couple can.

For Jon, loving Rachel is easy. She is the perfect wife and the perfect mother. And yet, what is even more amazing about her is she is a devout Christian.

In fact, her faith in God helps guide her in the way she raises Alana and Ainslee. She brings Christian values into the house day in and day out, and this is something Jon really appreciates.

“If we all could be as caring, patient, protective and loving like Rachel is towards her children, this world would be a more wonderful place,” Felicia said. “She always wanted to be a mom. Her patience is something I adore about her. One thing that stands out is, Rachel selflessly put her career on a pause to be present with her children.”

Outside of her relationship with God, Rachel’s relationship with her girls is the most important thing to her. She loves them both dearly, and she would do anything for them. She is their rock and their pillar, and she shows why being a mom has always been a dream of hers.

“Rachel was born to be a mom,” Jon said. “She dedicates herself 100 percent to our family, especially our girls. She shows so much love and affection to our girls and also has taught them so much. They never go without because of Rachel. She constantly is doing activities with them, teaching them, reading to them, and has signed our daughter up for numerous activities (gymnastics; dance). She is always making sure the girls have home-cooked meals too.”

Rachel is the picture-perfect mom who a lot of people admire and look up to. There is not a thing she would not do for Alana or Ainslee, as her heart is so precious.

Jon, Alana and Ainslee love the matriarch of their house so much, and they could not imagine life without her.
