When people go to the casino in Atlantic City, NJ, they’re often hoping to get lucky by winning money, but Jennifer Sullivan got lucky in that she met her future husband Patrick that night, whom she would go on to marry and have her beloved son Colin with. Jennifer was born in Bucks County, to Ray and Mary, as the oldest of three siblings: Mark, Rachel and Katie.
Today, Jen can be found in Phoenixville spending time with her husband and raising her now-15-year-old son or nursing people back to health as a registered nurse at Chester County Hospital. She is incredibly caring toward her family to the point where her son Colin even won Citizen of the Year from his school, which was a direct result of Jen’s influence on him.
“Jen is so caring. As a nurse, she always puts others’ needs before her own and she also does that in her private life,” said Patrick and Colin. “She is always willing to help others in need. Sometimes these people don’t even know they need Jen’s help. Selfishly for us, Jen is a great mom.”
Jen is always there for her family but also finds time for her own hobbies she enjoys. In particular, she loves to read, do some gardening, watch some mindless TV and spend time with family and friends. She also loves to go for walks with people and her dogs: Aesop (RIP), Radar (RIP) and Axl.
Another one of her favorite hobbies is creating hilarious memories with her family like the time she once thought Patrick had water dripping on him while changing Colin, but there was no leak. Another funny memory was the time she saw Patrick running around Ocean City only to see him biking around Ocean City in different clothes a few minutes later. Throughout it all the family have had wonderful times together as Patrick and Colin couldn’t be more appreciative of Jen.
“We admire her ability to forgive and love. She puts herself on the line for others, even when others tell her not to,” said Patrick and Colin. “She believes in the greatness of family and is very protective of all of us.”
Colin and Patrick feel very lucky to have Jen in their lives this Mother’s Day and each wanted to send her a special message.
“Jen is the kindest, warmest, most empathetic and honest person that I have ever met. Meeting her, dating her and ultimately marrying her is the thing in my life that I am most proud of,” said Patrick. “I am lucky to have her.”
“As a mom, Jen is always there for [me,]” said Colin. “[Whether it’s] a rough day at school, at the rink, or great days at home or elsewhere Jen is always there to support [me] unconditionally.”
