Esther Duttweiler is a wife, mother and businesswoman, but most importantly, she’s a wonderful example of Christian faith, hope, and love.
Her husband, Tom, said Esther is extremely understanding and patient as a parent to their daughters, Naomi and Eliza.
She shows great care in the smallest detail of their lives and works tirelessly and sacrifices to make sure they have what they need to thrive. She can show tough love when she needs to, but also knows how to have fun.
“She never forgets that our two daughters are small and need help to grow into the young ladies God has meant them to be,” Tom said.
Esther is known for her toughness and resilience. Tom said she gives the girls an excellent example of a Godly and dignified woman, while she is a constant source of comfort and encouragement when the girls face life’s ups and downs.
She has faced several health challenges in recent years, but she has fought through them with determination and her faith in God. She also helped Tom work to earn three degrees, providing encouragement and support when he faced self-doubt.
Esther runs a small business called Kind and Lovely Crotchet, where she hand-crotchets and sells blankets, scarves, hats, shawls, and many other items. She often donates the proceeds to worthy charities or gives the items as gifts to friends and family.
Tom is amazed that she can run a business while raising two beautiful girls, running the Duttweiler household, and being a loving, devoted wife.
“Her love for me has never wavered over 13 years of marriage,” Tom said with a smile. “She has never forgotten how to have fun and be flirty with me, and that has kept the spark in our marriage.”
Esther’s top priority in life is loving and serving Jesus Christ, and she spends ample time in Bible study, prayer, and serving in the local church. Tom said she is blessing to their family and to everyone who knows her.
“She never loses sight of what is most important in life and has been my compass for what is right and pleasing to God more times than I could say,” Tom said.
The couple met at Clemson University and got engaged and were married in Charleston, South Carolina. Tom said the happiest moment of his life was seeing Esther walk down the aisle at Seacoast Chapel in Charleston on their wedding day.
Tom pays Esther a great compliment when he says that she is the one person in the world he can truly be himself around, adding that she loves him, their children, and her family unconditionally.
“Honey, I love you and am so thankful for the wonderful gift from God you are to me and the girls,” Tom said. “I cannot imagine my life without you and am so happy every day to be married to the one person in the world who makes me feel like I am home.”
